March 19-21 the 48th NY attended the Battle of Bentonville Reenactment. This event is held on a 5 year cycle, and draws reenactors from across the country.  The weather was perfect all weekend, and we all had a great time. The engagements on both days were very intense, at times we were being engaged by infantry on three side and by artillery on two. If you did not make this event you really missed out.

This past weekend the 48th NY attended the 146th Anniversery of the Battle of Olustee. Despite the wet conditions and the frigid temperatures we had an over all good time. Our campaigner march was postponed till saturday morning, and it came close to turning into a campaigner swim. It gave a great since of what the Florida Expedition would have been like.

Many members of the 48th made the trip north to participate with the SCAR in the 145th Fort McAllister.  Ken Giddens led the company as captain.
